Selection guide

This category covers solid zirconia ceramic rods, shaft blanks, shaped shafts and plunger parts. Products are grouped by listed diameter, length, color, surface condition and pack size. Some pages contain a broad dimensional range. Others describe one fixed part for a specific assembly.

Choose a solid rod or a finished shaft

A rod blank gives you material for later machining or for a simple straight component. A finished shaft has a defined diameter, length and surface condition. Shaped parts can include a D-profile, a stepped section or a plunger form. Select the geometry before you compare nominal dimensions.
Record the outside diameter and full length from the part drawing. Long shafts need a different dimensional review from short locating rods. If straightness, roundness or diameter tolerance controls the fit, add those values to the inquiry. The product name does not state every drawing requirement.
Several products list polished or precision-ground surfaces. Others state an unpolished condition. Match the listed finish to the contact surface in your assembly. A polished option and a ground option with the same nominal diameter are not interchangeable by default.

Read color, material and pack details carefully

The range includes black and white zirconia rods. One listed solid-rod product also has zirconia and alumina material choices. Confirm the selected material on the product page and order line. Do not use color as the only material check.
Lengths range from compact shaft parts to long rod blanks. Product options may use single-piece quantities or multi-piece packs. Read the full option text because the pack quantity can change between diameters or lengths on the same page.
If you need a cut length, a special end form or a matched shaft and sleeve, send the drawing before ordering. The catalogue also includes shaft-and-sleeve sets under the tube and sleeve category. Those sets may suit an assembly that needs both mating parts.

Prepare a useful technical inquiry

List the material, color, diameter, length, surface finish and quantity. Add any flat, chamfer, radius, step or thread shown on the drawing. Include tolerance, straightness and surface requirements when they affect assembly performance.
Describe the operating conditions. State the load direction, motion, contact material, temperature and fluid exposure. These details help separate a dimensional match from a suitable part selection. Flownectra can review standard options and drawing-based requests, but the complete assembly sets the final operating limits.
