Match the housing before the pore size

Identify the assembly family and seat first. Then select the listed frit reference, pore size and pack quantity.

Selection guide

HPLC inline filters place a removable particle-control part inside the fluid path. This category contains four product families with housings, complete assemblies, connectors and replacement frits. Select the housing family before you compare pore sizes. A frit with the required rating can still be wrong for the seat or housing diameter.

Identify the housing and assembly format

The listed families use several format descriptions. Two families use 4.6# housings, one uses a 20# preparative housing, and one covers assemblies from 2.1 to 48 mm. These labels describe different product systems. Do not treat 4.6#, 4.6 mm and a general 4.6 reference as proof of fit.
For an installed filter, read the housing or assembly model before removal. Record the body dimensions and connector arrangement. If no reference is visible, measure the replaceable part and seating features after the system is safe to open. A photograph can support identification, but it cannot confirm the internal seat.
The broad AMLC family lists analytical assemblies at 2.1, 3.0 and 4.6 mm. It also lists preparative assemblies at 10, 20, 30 and 48 mm. Each replacement frit option names its matching assembly. Use that pairing instead of selecting from the diameter alone.

Separate complete assemblies from replacement parts

Several product pages combine different sales units. A selector may contain a housing, a housing-and-frit assembly, a replacement frit pack, a core shell or a connector pack. Read the full option name before adding the item to an order.
The 4.6# PEEK family lists a housing, a housing-and-frit assembly, frit packs from 0.2 to 20 um, a frit core shell pack and connectors. The semi-preparative 4.6# family lists filter sets, one housing and frit packs from 0.2 to 10 um. The 20# family lists a housing, an assembly and 0.5 to 10 um frit packs.
Pack quantities also differ. Some replacement frit options contain two pieces. Other families list ten-piece packs. Record the quantity with the model so that a compatible part is not ordered in the wrong sales unit.

Select the pore size within the matched family

Across the four families, listed pore sizes run from 0.2 to 100 um. The available range changes with the assembly diameter. The 2.1 and 3.0 mm AMLC assemblies list 1, 2 and 5 um replacements. The 30 and 48 mm groups extend to 100 um.
Use the pore size already specified for the method or installed assembly unless the process owner approves a change. A pore-size change can affect restriction, loading and service behavior. The product selector confirms available models, but it does not replace method validation.

Prepare a complete order reference

Record the assembly or housing model, diameter, pore size, connector, material description and pack quantity. State whether the request is for a complete assembly or a replacement frit. Browse the parent HPLC filters and solvent inlet components category for reservoir-side filters. Contact Flownectra with the current model or drawing when the housing cannot be identified.
